DART plans light rail simulation for Texas-OU service on Sunday
From approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
DALLAS To help prepare for light rail service to the 2010 football game between The University of Texas and Oklahoma University at the Cotton Bowl at Fair Park, DART will test a special Green Line schedule for about four hours on Sunday morning, May 2.
From approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Green Line service will operate on a special clockwise route serving West End, Akard, St. Paul, Pearl, Deep Ellum, Baylor University Medical Center, and Fair Park stations; trains will then use connector tracks to reach the Red and Blue Line and complete the loop back to West End. Passengers boarding at any of these stations may remain on the train to return to downtown Dallas.
There will be no rail service to either MLK, Jr. or Victory stations during the four-hour test period. Instead, shuttle bus service will be provided between MLK, Jr. and Fair Park, and from Fair Park to Baylor University Medical Center, Deep Ellum and Pearl stations. A separate bus shuttle also will operate between Victory and West End stations.
Regular Green Line service will resume with the 12:11 p.m. departure from Victory Station and the 12:23 p.m. departure from MLK, Jr. Station.
