The Superdrome Management Group is pleased to announce its collaborative effort with Liberty High School for a new off-site Physical Education program beginning mid-March 2010. Liberty High School will be the first area school to have a daily program for Track Cycling at the Superdrome Velodrome from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with approximately 20 to 30 students participating per hour.

Equipment, supervision, and professional level coaching will be provided by the Superdrome at no cost to Liberty High School.

Located on the Preston Ridge Campus of Collin County Community College District, the Superdrome in Frisco is a joint partnership between the City of Frisco and CCCCD. The Superdrome is an Olympic-style track cycling venue and one of only three 250 meter wood surfaced velodromes in the United States. The track is built upon a specially designed steel frame structure with banking of 44 degrees at the steepest points and has a technologically advanced non-skid surface for safety and ease of use. The Superdrome was completely resurfaced in spring 2009 and is completely self-maintained and non-profit, made possible through a 100% volunteer staff. The facility is available for use by any track certified cyclist. The Superdrome sponsors two free programs for youth under 18 years of age through donated bicycles and equipment, the Youth Development and Junior Development Track Racing Programs, providing children with the opportunity to learn to ride, and race, on a velodrome.

The Superdrome Points Series (SPS) provides Junior, Elite, and Masters cyclists with the opportunity to compete locally; using a weekly racing series as an introduction to the sport of track cycling, and potentially as a stepping stone to national and international competition.

The Superdrome is also scheduled to host the 2010 USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships September 1-5, 2010.

All are welcome to come visit the Superdrome in Frisco and enjoy a “night at the races.” There is never a fee for spectators, and food and drinks are allowed. During the season, Friday Night Superdrome Points Series (SPS) races start at 7:30 p.m. and there are races for all adult categories, juniors, youth, and apron races for children.

Race schedules, updates, and information posted online at www.superdrome.com
