This is our new favorite breakfast spot in Grapevine and we cannot wait to go back.

We have long heard rumors of how great the breakfasts were at OldWest Cafe in Denton. Unfortunately, we were never able to make the drive up I-35 to try it out. Great news is that as of January 2010, OldWest Cafe has opened a Grapevine location just outside of historic downtown.

Right away we were impressed with the massive amount of options on the breakfast menu. It took nearly 10 minutes to decide what to order. We love having choices and at OldWest Cafe you have many options in all of their menu categories. Whether you are looking for a healthy breakfast, or french toast, or tex mex favorites, or skillet breakfasts (or many others) you will get to choose between 7 to 10 meals IN EACH SECTION.

We ordered two breakfasts, one was called the Cheyenne and the other was the Bronco Buster.

The Cheyenne is a cinnamon roll that has been dipped in French toast batter and is baked fresh daily. It comes lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar. This was the best cinnamon roll we have ever had and quite frankly it is not really close. It tasted so good we wondered if it might be illegal in certain parts of the country.

The Cheyenne also comes with two eggs, two pieces of bacon or sausage, and your choice of one other side item. We ordered the bananas and strawberries as our side item and they were very fresh and tasty.

The Bronco Buster comes with one huge pancake, two eggs, two pieces of bacon or sausage or ham, and one other side item. We ordered the blueberry pancake which was very good. We ordered the eggs scrambled and they might have been the best restaurant scrambled eggs we have ever tasted. The sausage patties were also very good. Everything tasted homemade.

Our side item with the Bronco Buster was the fried potatoes. These are like mini-triangle French fries and they too were perfectly done. They were hot, fresh, and crisp.

The service at OldWest Cafe was good. Everyone there was very friendly and they all seemed to work together to help us enjoy the meal.

As we watched food come out of the kitchen, there were so many plates that we want to go back and try. We saw omelets, breakfast tacos, and skillet style breakfasts all go by and they all looked so delicious.

We also want to go back later in the day to test out the lunch menu.

This is our new favorite breakfast spot in Grapevine and we cannot wait to go back.
