Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth organizes benefit concert for truck driver killed in June

Larry Joe Taylor and Phil Pritchett will play.

Billy Bob's Texas is putting on a benefit concert at 6 p.m. August 8 for Ruben Martinez, the Ben E. Keith truck driver who was killed in June. Here's more info from Billy Bob's:

In June, Ruben Martinez was shot in the neck as he and his partner delivered beer to a local North Fort Worth convenience store. Due to the injuries he sustained as a result of the shooting, Ruben tragically passed away on July 12 after a courageous fight for his life. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, and son Diego. Adding to this tragedy, Lisa is eight months pregnant.

The concert includes performances by Larry Joe Taylor, Phil Pritchett, and surprise guests. Tickets are $20. All the money raised goes to Martinez's family. They will also auction tickets to Superbowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium in February 2011, vacation packages, a round of golf with Pat Green at Colonial Country Club, a Championship Bull Riding VIP Package, and more.

Those who can't attend but want to make a donation can make checks payable to Ruben Martinez Family Fund.

Mail checks to:

Ben E. Keith Beverages

7001 Will Rogers Blvd

Or make a deposit at any Chase Bank payable to: Ruben Martinez Family Fund. The account number is 897454138.
