Stars come out as the Maya Indie Film Series kicks off its 2010 season.

The Maya Indie Film Series (MIFS) kicked off its 2010 season of the best in independently produced, culturally-diverse cinema Friday night at the Dallas Angelika with a star-studded red carpet and a gala premiere screening of The Dry Land.

The film played earlier this year as a featured selection of the DALLAS International Film Festival (DIFF), which explains why DIFF Executive Director Tanya Foster was on hand to join Maya Entertainment Co-Chairman Jeff Valdez on the carpet.

Representing The Dry Land were director Ryan Piers Williams, along with stars America Ferrera, Ryan O'Nan, and Wilmer Valderrama.
