Concert preview: Shiny Around the Edges at Hailey’s in Denton (June 11)
Friday is just the latest in a string of concerts Shiny Around The Edges will be playing this summer in Denton.
Last year's DOMA winner for Best Experimental/Avant Garde group, Shiny Around The Edges will be headlining at Hailey's on Friday night. The band, comprised of husband and wife duo Jennifer and Michael Seman, have been playing a string of shows the past few weeks in anticipation for the release of their new album.
In the past month, they have played multiple house shows, including one at The Schoolhouse where they helped entertain the 40 Nights Of Rock and Roll crew. It was a chance for the huge crowd there that night to get a first listen to what Shiny has in store for their sophomore album.
Shiny Around The Edges — “Robinwood Must Burn”
As I said, Friday is just the latest in a string of concerts Shiny Around The Edges will be playing this summer in Denton. According to the band's MySpace page, you will have at least three more chances to catch them live in Denton this June and July. Then the group heads out on the road, accompanied by Dust Congress, for an August tour of the Midwest and East Coast.
If you were a fan of their debut full length album Holy Roller, you'll want to see them live at some point this summer. It was a beautiful album that received an overwhelmingly positive response from critics. More importantly, it was something fans of the band could finally sink their teeth into.
