Fake sewer company scamming residents in Rowlett/Garland

Callers claim they need to scope out sewer lines for a fee.

It has been reported that citizens in the Rowlett/Garland area have been receiving calls from a company claiming to be “working with the city” to “scope” sewer lines. They are also claiming that there is an undetermined service charge for this service. The City is NOT conducting any such service.

The callers tell citizens that the city is requiring them to set up appointments to come to the citizen’s home to scope the sewer lines for a fee. These calls are not legitimate.

Also, at no time do Rowlett Public Works employees have a need to enter homes.

If citizens receive any calls of this nature, they are being asked to please contact the City of Rowlett immediately at 972-463-CITY (2489) to make a report.
