Majesty’s Restaurant in Flower Mound changes name to Walt Garrison’s
Known for his toughness and dependability both on the football field and in the rodeo arena, Walt Garrison is a true cowboy legend.
Majesty’s Restaurant in Flower Mound has unveiled its new name, Walt Garrison’s. The name change reflects a new partnership with existing owners Terry Sullivan, David and Lucy Lee Wang, and Guy and Hope Shimabuku welcoming new owners Garrison, Shannon Johnson, and Tom Puckett. Garrison’s General Manager & Executive Chef Sullivan commented, “We are excited to join forces with the legendary Walt Garrison to provide the best prime steaks and seafood in the Metroplex. This is an excellent opportunity for the restaurant and the community.”
Known for his toughness and dependability both on the football field and in the rodeo arena, Garrison is a true cowboy legend. A native of Lewisville, Walt’s football career began at Lewisville High School. He was a fifth round selection in the 1966 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys out of Oklahoma State University. He spent nine seasons with the Cowboys and is considered by many as one of Dallas’ most beloved and popular players ever. He is an inductee in the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in Fort Worth and was the spokesperson for U.S. Smokeless Tobacco for over 38 years.
Said Garrison, “I had another business in my hometown for over 32 years and it’s great to be back. Come out and see us. You will not be disappointed.” Johnson is a graduate of Flower Mound Marcus High School and Pepperdine University. She had an outstanding basketball career at Marcus and was a four-year starter at Pepperdine. Shannon worked for Coca-Cola in the San Francisco area upon graduation.
Puckett has more than 28 years experience in marketing, including a working background and personal relationships with NFL Properties, NFL Players, Inc., the NFL Quarterback Club, NASCAR, Major League Baseball and Major League Baseball Players Association. He currently owns Highland Village, Texas-based Up Next Marketing, a full service event planning company specializing in fundraising events from golf tournaments to culinary classics.
