Photo gallery: Fort Worth mayor Mike Moncrief hoists Christmas tree in Sundace Square

Tis' the season for the annual Christmas tree in Sundance Square.

Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief helped hoist the 55-foot Christmas tree in the middle of Sundance Square this morning. The blue spruce tree comes all the way from Acme, Michigan. To off-set the tree's carbon emissions, Green Mountain Energy Company has partnered with Sundance Square to use 100% pollution-free Texas wind power.

Throughout the week, the Sundance Square crew will prepare the tree for decoration, culminating in the Parade of Lights event on Friday, November 26 at 6 pm. Beginning on November 27, children will be able to visit Santa under the tree until December 22.
