First 250 to bring canned good to FC Dallas playoff game Saturday get a free ticket

What a deal!

— The first 250 fans who bring a canned item to the Pizza Hut Park box office this Saturday for the North Texas Food Bank will receive one free ticket to the FC Dallas playoff game versus Real Salt Lake set to kick off at 4 p.m., presented by Cash America and airing live on Fox Soccer Channel.

Anyone who donates a canned good once the 250 free tickets are gone can purchase a discounted ticket to the game with no limit on the number purchased ($10 endline, $15 sideline east or $25 sideline west tickets). The ticket promotion is part of a joint effort between Pizza Hut and FC Dallas to help the North Texas Food Bank in advance of the holiday season.

FC Dallas faces the reigning MLS Cup Champions Real Salt Lake in the October 30, 4 p.m. tilt at Pizza Hut Park. The match is the first leg of the team’s home-and-away Western Conference Semifinal. Immediately following the game, Pizza Hut Park will play host to a Texas Rangers’ World Series Watch Party as all eyes turn to the other hometown team vying for a championship when the Rangers face the San Francisco Giants.

FC Dallas (12-4-14, 50 points) ended the MLS season with the fewest losses by a team in league history. The team also set league records for the longest road unbeaten streak (12 games) and longest overall unbeaten streak (19 games) in a single season. Dallas midfielder David Ferreira has turned in an MVP-worthy campaign in 2010, while head coach Schellas Hyndman is a leading Coach of the Year candidate. Despite being sidelined with a knee injury during the season’s final weeks, goalkeeper Kevin Hartman set the MLS record for single-season Goals Against Average with a stingy 0.62 mark on the year.

FC Dallas split its regular season series with Real Salt Lake, winning 2-0 at Pizza Hut Park on July 17. Dallas fell 2-0 against Real in Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah on October 16.
