— Nastia Liukin, who dazzled American audiences with her near-flawless routines to capture the all-around gymnastics gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, will perform along with 2010 Olympic figure skating champion Evan Lysacek in a one-night only evening of skating and gymnastics entertainment October 3 at the Allen Event Center. Liukin, who hails from Dallas, will be performing in front of a hometown crowd.

Tickets can be purchased at the Allen Event Center box office, online at www.GetTix.net, charge by phone at 1-866-I-GET-TIX (866-443-8849), or at Market Street located at 75 & Bethany Dr. Tickets will range in price from $40-$125.

In addition to capturing the coveted all-around gold medal in the Beijing Olympic Games, Liukin also captured three silvers and a bronze. Liukin is the third American woman to win the Olympic gold medal in the all-around competition, following the footsteps of Mary Lou Retton in 1984 and Carly Patterson in 2004. Liukin’s parents are both champion Soviet gymnasts. Her father, Valeri, won four Olympic medals (two gold, two silver) and is her coach. Liukin’s mother, Anna Kotchneva, is a former world medalist in rhythmic gymnastics.

An incredible cast of figure skaters has been confirmed for the event. In addition to Lysacek, the skaters scheduled to perform are 2008 U.S. champion and 2010 Olympian Mirai Nagasu, reigning U.S. champion and 2010 Olympian Rachael Flatt, 2010 Olympic silver medalist ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White, reigning U.S. pairs champion and 2010 Olympians Caydee Denney and Jeremy Barrett, and three-time U.S. champion and two-time Olympian Michael Weiss. Hosts of the evening are Olympic gymnastics icon and gold medalist Nadia Comaneci, her husband, Bart Conner, himself an Olympic gymnastics champion, and figure skating Olympic gold medalist Peggy Fleming.
