Tupy Tacos at Tupinamba

On Monday, Emily, Wyatt, and I decided to try out Tupinamba. This neighborhood Mexican food spot is located near the Dallas North Tollway and Forest Lane. The inside is spacious and the service was friendly and warm.

We arrived early since Wyatt was with us, but that just meant that we were still in time for the happy hour special. We each ordered a margarita for $3.95. Emily had the peach swirl and I had the sangria swirl -- what a deal!

I decided to try the Tupy Tacos. Apparently, this is one of the signature items on the menu. I'm not sure exactly what is in the tacos, but I can say they were pretty delicious. The outside taco is fried and you are served a lettuce, tomato, and cheese salad on the side. You can stuff your taco or eat the salad separately. Either way you go, you definitely won't be disappointed.

Emily ordered a combo of cheese enchiladas, a Tupy taco, and a guacamole tostada. The guacamole had fresh tomato and real pieces of avocado with just the right amount of garlic. The cheese enchiladas were overly covered in sauce and sans onion, but these shortcomings were overshadowed by the other items.

Even Wyatt had a good time visiting with the waiter and the other patrons! We'll be back.

Tupy's is my most fave spot in Big D. Been going there for years, since their original location on NW Hwy across from Bachman Lake. Have followed them to all their locations. Just love this spot !! (Try a Tupy Top Shelf Marg....oh my, awesome!)

I have been going to Tupinamba since I was a child and they were located on Lovers Lane. Their tacos are one of the best I have eaten anywhere. They have some great food with unique seasonings. Sadly, three items need Mr. Domingez to return to the kitchen: tostada chips, salsa (chips and salsa are defining) and Cozumel Enchilladas. Other than that the food is as good as when Eddie was playing basketball at A&M.

unlisted, humbleness is a word according to a few dictionaries, but I agree that humility is better.
