WAXAHACHIE — This year's Scarborough Renaissance Festival takes you on a trip back to the 14th century as you (never) remembered it. Fairies! Archery! Guys with swords! We call it a "a true waltz back in time." If Renaissance festivals are your thing, this is the granddaddy of them all.
The faire is open Saturdays, Sundays, and Memorial Day Monday from April 9-May 30.
Scarborough Faire 2011
The annual Scarborough Renaissance Festival welcomed thousands of people as wandering minstrels, armored knights, fairies, fortune tellers, craftsman, live jousts, medieval games, sages, shop keepers of all varieties, and hundreds of sights, sounds, and enchanting attractions were to be found among the 14th century villages that house the faire. It was a true waltz back in time with a very committed staff and skilled actors provided hours of entertainment. Photos by Justin Press.
