UPDATED: Hippiefest announced in Frisco on September 3 has been canceled

No more hippie for your Labor Day weekend.

UPDATE: The event has been canceled.

Folks at Dr Pepper Arena are going to party like it's 1969.

On Saturday, September 3, a "concert for peace & love" called Hippiefest comes to town after a tour through California, Washington state, the Northeast, Florida and Alabama. These hippies are everywhere.

The performers include: Dave Mason (Traffic), Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad), Rick Derringer, Felix Cavaliere's Rascals, and Gary Wright. The concert in years past has been called "a taste of Woodstock with out all the mud and bad acid" by the Miami Herald.
