Top Gun to hit theaters again for special 25th anniversary screenings
It's been 25 years? God, I'm old.
Marking the 25th anniversary of something is either cause for great celebration or lament for how old those who remember it are getting. Both may be in full effect as AMC Theatres celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the release of Top Gun with two screenings of the digitally remastered film. Even though AMC is labeling it "a classic," they sure aren't giving it classic placement, as your two options for seeing it on the big screen are Saturday, April 30 at 12:30 p.m. or Monday, May 2 at 7 p.m.
Dallas-Fort Worth movie fans with the need for speed can catch the film, which originally came out on May 16, 1986, at any of the following theaters: AMC Firewheel 18, AMC Grapevine Mills 30, AMC Highland Village 12, AMC Mesquite 30, AMC NorthPark 15, AMC The Parks at Arlington 18, or AMC Stonebriar 24.
You'll also get a free commemorative poster (while supplies last), if that ups the ante for you. Just try not to giggle at the homoerotic themes or camera trickery making it seem as if Tom Cruise could rise above the net to spike a volleyball.
