Former TCU pitcher Matt Purke signs with Washington Nationals
His deal will be worth $4.4 million over four years.
Former TCU standout pitcher Matt Purke has signed with the Washington Nationals, according to several sources.
His announcement came down to the last minute of the last day draft picks could sign with MLB teams.
The decision means he will not return to TCU for his junior season.
After a stellar 16-0 freshman campaign, Purke battled through an injury-plagued sophomore year to go 5-1.
According to the reports, his deal will be worth $4.4 million over four years.
