Fort Worth chef Lina Biancamano first to be eliminated from Top Chef Just Desserts 2

Fort Worth pastry chef Lina Biancamano, former pastry chef at Stephan Pyles, was the first contestant to be kicked off the new/second season of Top Chef Just Desserts, which premiered on Wednesday night.

Biancamano was on the bottom teams in both competitions: the initial quick-fire competition and the elimination challenge.

The quick-fire was at a soda shop off the Santa Monica Pier, while the elimination challenge called on the contestants to connect their pastries to a specifically designated fairy tale such as Little Red Riding Hood or Jack & the Beanstalk.

The show telegraphed her demise quickly, showing her difficulty interacting with her partner Craig during the quickfire. During the elimination challenge, she had disagreements with her teammate Melissa, a chef from Haiti.

The judges said that Lina's team desserts didn't connect sufficiently to their fairy tale, and that the showpiece didn't show enough technical skills.

"Lina wanted to make their showpiece out of cake, and it turned out to be a bad call," the judges said.

On her departure, Lina said she got thrown under the bus, that she was very dedicated and very talented, "and I didn't have enough time to show that side of me."

Teresa, you know I love you like a sister I've never met but didn't we have an agreement about not putting the names of eliminated reality show contestants in THE FREAKING HEADLINE that appears on THE HOME PAGE?!!!! It hasn't even been 24 hours since the show aired...you have to give me at least 24 hours, please?

TLS, first of all, i loved your Peterie concept (on SideDish) - brilliant, it made me burst right out laughing

second of all, i did think of you, i did have a momentary twinge, when i posted this. but then i thought, 'when she watches the episode, it will be apparent to her from the get-go that Lina is going home because they telegraphed it so intensely that there was no mystery.' but technically speaking, you are correct, and i apologize for exhibiting very careless spoiler behavior. never again i mean it this time!

Thank you and thank you. Nice technique starting a post off with a compliment. :)

Having watched the episode I thought Craig was going home. Not too be mean but I am mean and I find his appearance, speech and lack of talent unworthy of television fame. There didn't seem to be anyone that is worth rooting for yet and the bad attitudes are rampant.

However, previews show Veruca Salt is coming so there is hope!

TLS, I'm with you! I thought Craig was a goner, too. The judges even mentioned in panel that they felt like he wasn't ready for this competition. Plus it seems like completing several things not to their liking, like Lina, would be preferable to not completing anything, like Craig. It seemed like all he did was make the base for the show piece.
