Kelly Clarkson releases newest single, “Mr. Know It All”

The new song tones down the catchy hook usually found in pop singles, but it captures Clarkson's confident chords and sassy mentality.

Kelly Clarkson released her newest single, “Mr. Know It All,” on Tuesday in a live online stream on her website. The stream opened with 6,000 viewers.

The singer from North Texas, who skyrocketed to stardom when she won Season 1 of American Idol, introduced the track in her usual casual form, admitting how nervous she was. The track strays from her usual guitar-ridden, upbeat singles by stretching out the chorus and vocals. Lyrically, it tells the same empowered story Clarkson is known for, in her own words, by “raining on boys' parades.” Although the song is catchy and relatable, it doesn't make the statement that a first single should.

She answered questions from fans directly after the release. When asked who she would want to do a duet with, she picked Adele and Miranda Lambert, admitting that she would attempt to stalk them to get a song.

“Mr. Know It All” will be available for download on September 5, and the album Stronger will be released on October 25.
