Meddlesome Moth will host week-long beer event Ale Festivus April 4-10
Looks to be one of the most spectacular beer events ever held in Dallas.
Preliminary information has been released about the Meddlesome Moth's "Ale Festivus" week from April 4-10. The week-long engagement looks to be one of the most spectacular beer events ever held in the area. Special guests and beer never before seen in Texas will be featured in multiple events including beer dinners as well as tappings throughout the week.
Beer dinners
The Moth will host four beer dinners from Monday to Thursday with a solid lineup of breweries and guests: Greg Koch (founder of Stone Brewing Company), Bill Graham (one of three owners and Brewing Ops Manager of Ska Brewing), Todd Usury (owner of Breckenridge Brewing), and Lauren Young (Sun Belt rep for Lagunitas Brewing).
Special tappings
In addition to the beer dinners, cicerone Matt Quenette said there will be three firkins constantly flowing, starting on Monday. Tuesday through Friday, four taps will be rotated with beers influenced by wood. These additional special tappings include offerings from Green Flash, Avery Brewing, a cask of Breckenridge 471 IPA, as well as many more surprises.
Tasting sessions
On Saturday, beer lovers can participate in tasting sessions of the ales that The Moth has stockpiled for the past eight months. The sessions will start at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., each lasting 2.5 hours. Guests will receive 10 2 oz. tasters, one 10 oz. pour, and a Moth snifter glass to take home as a gift. Full details on the tap and bottle list will be announced at a later date.
The remaining beers from the week will be available on Sunday for full pours and the Moth will resume normal business.
Price
The Stone Dinner will be $85, while the other three dinners will be $65 each. The Saturday tasting sessions are $65 per person with a 150-guest limit each session. Quenette also mentioned that they are working with hotels to negotiate group rates for that week. Tickets are now available by calling the Meddlesome Moth.
