Kids and family events in Dallas-Fort Worth, July 14-20
Celebrating Bastille Day, dreaming of boating, and singing about elephants are your best bets this week.
100, 101, 100, 101, 100. No, I'm not speaking in binary code -- that's just the weather forecast for the foreseeable future. But we can't let the heat keep us from our weekly appointment with fun. Whatever you do, do it with a smile on your face to show that nasty sun who's boss.
The second annual Bastille on Bishop will take place Thursday night in the Bishop Arts District in Oak Cliff. Why celebrate the French Revolution here? Why not? You can enjoy French food, music, cars, and other activities all evening long.
Who hasn't dreamed of going out on one of the many lakes around the Dallas-Fort Worth area? You can get that dream one step closer to reality by attending the Ultimate Summer Boat & Outdoor Show at Dallas Market Hall. Formerly called the Dallas Boat Show, the watercraft showcase will run Friday through Sunday the next two weeks. Even if you're not going to buy anything, you'll stay cool inside while thinking of water.
Finally, YouTube hit Eric Herman will make a morning appearance next Wednesday at NorthPark Center in Dallas. His videos, including the ever-popular "The Elephant Song," have garnered over 30 million views, and he'll soon be releasing his first DVD. Come sing along with Herman and tell him what animals really do.
