— Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) set ridership records as they supported the Dallas Mavericks' parade and celebration on Thursday, June 16.

Total DART Rail, DART Bus and TRE ridership on Thursday totaled 310,400, compared to the previous average weekday record of 256,386 set during September 2008.

DART Rail provided 151,000 trips, surpassing the record 132,800 set during the 2009 Texas-OU game. Average weekday ridership on DART Rail is 75,000.

The new TRE record is 26,500 trips, the highest since a July 2006 free fare day in support of ozone awareness.

To accommodate Mavs parade-goers, DART added 34 light rail cars to daily service (a total of 130 vehicles) and up to 120 buses for post-event service. The TRE added rail cars to their regular morning fleet as well as one additional train trip. Buses from the T in Fort Worth were also used to support TRE customers.
