America’s Got Talent, The Voice put NBC on top again Dallas-Fort Worth ratings
CBS11 anchor Karen Borta's guest host appearance on CBS' The Talk won its 1 to 2 p.m. time slot.
NBC's regular season miseries are being offset of late by its summertime punch.
The Peacock's America's Got Talent, followed by the second-to-last Season 1 episode of The Voice, were both knockouts Tuesday night, particularly with advertiser-coveted 18-to-49-year-olds.
Talent won the 7 p.m. hour, grabbing 263,177 total D-FW viewers in holding off CBS' competing NCIS repeat (214,697 viewers). But there was a gaping gap among 18-to-49-year-olds, with Talent amassing 131,624 viewers in this age range to more than double the total of Fox's runner-up Masterchef (62,521).
It got better for NBC from 8 to 10 p.m., with Voice drawing 270,102 total viewers, 154,658 of them 18-to-49-year-olds. Nothing else came close in either measurement.
ABC's best performer was the 9 p.m. second episode of Combat Hospital, which tied Fox4's local newscast for a distant second place in total viewers (117,737 each). Combat fought to a stand alone second-place finish at that hour with 18-to-49-year-olds, although its total of 42,778 was less than one-third the haul for Voice.
Earlier Tuesday, CBS11 anchor Karen Borta's guest host appearance on CBS' The Talk won its 1 to 2 p.m. time slot with 62,331 total viewers. Talk also triumphed with 18-to-49-year-olds. The show drew identical audiences in both measurements for Monday's edition.
In the four-way local news derby results, WFAA8 overcame NBC5's lead-in advantage from Voice to win at 10 p.m. in total viewers (186,994). The Peacock fought back, though, with a first-place finish among 25-to-54-year-olds, the main advertiser target audience for news programming.
NBC5 also continued its 6 a.m. winning streak by running the table for the fifth straight weekday.
The 6 p.m. golds were split between CBS11 in total viewers and WFAA8 in the 25-to-54 demographic. WFAA8 also won at 5 p.m. in total viewers while Fox4 was tops with 25-to-54-year-olds.
