UPDATED: Glenn Beck rents $4 million home in Westlake
Beck's move here might be tied to Rick Perry's possible run for president.
UPDATE: Glenn Beck has confirmed that he's moving to Westlake.
Entertainer Glenn Beck may be on his way to Texas, to actually live here. And what a better place for the controversial former Fox radio and television host, author, entrepreneur, and political commentator who hosts the Glenn Beck Program, a nationally syndicated talk-radio show, and Glenn Beck on Fox News Channel, who has authored six New York Times-bestselling books, and is the founder and CEO of Mercury Radio Arts, a multimedia production company, to settle than the tony, upscale, and uber-private gated community of Vaquero smack dab next to D/FW Airport?
Sources have told CandysDirt that Beck has leased the $3,900,000 listed home of Jorge & Vanessa Piedra (she is a Swarovski heiress -- as in the crystal; he is a major league ballplayer who had some issues and was last with the Florida Marlins) at 2208 Vaquero Estates Boulevard in Westlake. The Piedra home has been on the market since August 2009, and originally listed for $5,400,000. The price was lowered to $3,900,000 and then put in the rental pool for $20,000 a month, which is actually more than the original lease offer of $15,000. It’s that kind of market, I guess, where you lower selling prices but can increase the monthly lease. In fact, as of June 26, the behemoth home was for lease for just 59 days where it had been on the market for 351 days. Jeepers!
Anyhow, here is what Glenn and his wife, Tania, are getting: 7,904 square feet, four car garage, almost two acres of land (1.7ish), a Hill Country styled house, La Cornue stove, master retreat with a relaxation room, study, steam shower, limestone, hardwoods, travertine, seven bedrooms, both sun and exercise rooms, a guest house with living, bedroom, bath, and of course a pool. And if he decides he likes it so much he wants to buy, seller financing is even available; and Glenn, get Vanessa to throw in some crystal.
Last April, Beck announced he would “transition off of his daily program” on Fox News. According to Bud Kennedy at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Beck told our governor Rick Perry that he might move to Texas and might even run for governor. I heard yesterday that Perry’s senior staff is seriously exploring the presidential opportunity, seeking money, and perhaps Beck’s presence in Texas might help? Beck did joke with Perry about incentives for moving his 150-employee strong company, Mercury Radio Arts, to Texas:
“I’ll move my company to Texas, but I need you to give me zero income tax — do you see what I’m saying?”
So what can I say besides, Welcome to Texas, Glenn and Tania Beck?
What do you say?

Good for Glenn Beck. I wish to move back to Texas someday myself. I am a Texan and I have been gone too long. There is no place like Texas, you can't beat it. Texas will be richer with the likes of Glenn Beck.

I am going to miss Glenn on tv... He has opened the public to knowing what is going on in our country. I like his honesty. He continues to suggest we all do our own homework. He appears to be very open with himself and his beliefs. I trust him. I don't trust our government, our president, or many in congress or senate. It seems if they go in honest (or appearing so) they end up dishonest quickly. It all boils down to money. The bible says: The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Couldn't have been said better....

You have got that right! Some of those Dems aren't so wise, though. They come here for our great economy, jobs etc - and continue to vote with the Dems!!!!!
We WELCOME everyone, except those that could pull our state down - like the droves of Dems coming from CA & NY!

I am glad Glenn and his family are going to live in a more civilized place. He is extremely hard working, and the nasties who criticize him are either envious or afraid of the truth. Period. Good luck, Glenn!! We will follow you wherever you go.

Kane, I'm sure he just misunderstood their gestures of affection and liberal acceptance as physical threats and intolerance.... some complex psychological transference named after a famous NY therapist or LA Night Club.

Well only in Texas can you walk into a restaurant and ask, at random, "Can I get a jump?", and then have a guy leave his meal and say, "Yep, but do you have cables?" and of course I left them at home, and one of the staff overhears, and offers his cables... and only In Texas can you try to repay the guy by buying is meal, and he flat out refuses.

I wish Glenn and his family were moving to Los Angeles! We could use him here! I only wish him well and peace to his family. BTW, everything he said about the riots in Euorpe over pensions and custs were correct. Look at what went on in UK today, and notice the Marzist pro commuist banners walking with the crowds. The media even Fox, blamed the messenger, but in the end, BECK WAS CORRECT!

Texas is the place to be for Conservatives like Beck. Those who think he doesn't belong here may want to think about finding a new place for themselves. We welcome all hard working people who have old fashioned values and want to help their neighbors. Beck has been doing that for many years and will fit in well. Just wish he had moved to East Texas where we are even MORE Conservative!

No STATE income taxes pc_pal... Come to Texas and see what low taxes do for the economy: low unemployment and high job growth. Or you could just sit back and whine about how bad you have it. An even better idea - why not start supporting lower taxes in your own state and you can have a great economy also!

We lived in Texas in the early 1980's. We always tell people that the first day we woke up there, we were Texan's. We loved, loved, loved it and wish Glenn and his family the best as they too become Texan's. We hope some day soon to move back. We have missed it since the day we left due to a job change. I am so jealous.....

Just what us native Texans dread ! more POLLUTION! I remember that was one of the adjectives that came to mind the first time I heard him on TV. Pollution! And stinking thinking coming out of his mouth! I hope people appreciate all the new highways and bridge interchanges in Dallas-Fort Worth! Paid for by taxes, ie: Stimulus Funds that are so cursed! Of course more train tracks would have been a better investment long term to reduce the number of Level Orange Bad air days.
Most people in Dallas Fort Worth are not from here. And this is the southwest. Where is all the water going to come from?

Kane - they don't "Hate"
They have all intellectually come to the superior decision that derision, condescension and dismissiveness is the only true means of communication with people of differing beliefs. You, however are just a mindless hater.
See how that all works out?

Great. Now Beck can be a stone's throw from Mike Stathis, the world's leading expert on the economic collapse and the guy Beck BANNED from warning Americans a few years ago about the current depression. Of course, Beck was just acting like the rest of the Zionist-run media that has banned Stathis so as to keep Americans uninformed as to what is going on and to hide the criminal nature of Washington and the US. See www.avaresearch.com for the truth.
