Braza Dancante churrascaria restaurant opens in The Village at Allen

Kick off their grand opening on Friday March 11.

Village at Allen

Village at Allen

— After much anticipation, Braza Dancante, a Brazilian Churrascaria restaurant and music lounge has opened for business in Allen’s, The Village at Allen Shopping Center. After several successful soft openings in early February, the Brazilian steakhouse opened their doors to the Allen/McKinney/Fairview community. They will kick off their official grand opening on Friday, March 11. The unique restaurant provides the region with an affordable Brazilian-inspired steakhouse menu accompanied by a generous salad bar, delicious side dishes, and an impressive wine selection.

In addition to offering this far North Collin County area the only Brazilian-inspired steakhouse restaurant, Braza Dancante will host weekly entertainment, including live bands, dancing, and theme nights. Braza’s owners are hopeful that the area will welcome the entertainment and will open up a portion of the restaurant every weekend to host theme-appropriate bands and dancing after 9:30 p.m. It is obvious when you enter Braza Dancante that the owners were motivated to provide the area with not only a delectable menu of Brazilian meats, sides and wines, but also a place to have fun. The interior finish displays beautiful South American-inspired décor; chandeliers, eclectic wall colors, furniture and textiles complete the very inviting and upscale environment. The bar, which is located towards the center of the restaurant, offers patrons ample seating and a great selection of beers, liqueurs, and wines. Outside, as you move towards Braza’s entrance, you can’t help but take in the trendy musical sounds pulsating from their massive patio’s outdoor speakers. It is apparent in each detail; the perfectly over-sized patio area; the large fire-burning statues, the elevated stage for entertainment, and unique cuisine, that Braza Dancante was built to keep customers coming back.

Braza Dancante owners, long-time clients of Henry S. Miller Brokerage’s Daniel Harris, signed their lease at The Village more than a year ago. The owners wanted to make sure every aspect of their 6,500 square foot space was completed to perfection to meet their overall goal for the restaurant. Braza Dancante occupies approximately 6,500 square feet on a corner facing the Village’s Main Street which is the retail center’s main entrance and thoroughfare from Stacey Road. The space provides excellent visibility to motorists driving through the shopping center. It was imperative to Braza’s owners that the restaurant space be located prominently within the center to attract consumers coming from the north of south. Enjoy Braza Dancante’s Brazilian cuisine and lively entertainment for $29.95/person; open every day of the week, weekdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for dinner, and weekends open all day, Saturday 12 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday 11am 9:30 p.m. The Music lounge is open every day from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

It is great. The food is wonderful and the Brazilian beer is icy cold. The price is excellent.

There are basically 5 local Brazilian Churrascarias - Fogo, Rafain, Texas de Brazil, Master Grill and now this one. I think there can be no debate about Fogo being the benchmark for all of them.

From a meat perspective Braza is as good as it gets. The salad bar is not on a par with Fogo but it is solid and good. Service is not as professional as Fogo but Braza is new and that is probably a short term issue. The roughly $30 for Braza and about $50 for Fogo forgives a slightly lesser salad bar and weak service.

My experience with lunch was faultless. Dinner was a bit different. Still excellent food but the service weakened. The meat choices and the salad bar were more plentiful at dinner but the more expensive cuts were in apparent short supply. The filet made it once and despite requests it never reappeared. Promised lamb chops never appeared.

In the aggregate these are small disappointments. The bottom-line is great food, icy cold beer and a decent price point.

I disagree about Fogo. I prefer Rafain by miles.

Went to this restaurant because we were invited to the cigar shop around the corner and they were there giving tastings of thier food and 20% off cards. I personally thought the look of the restaurant from outside was very appealing and there is everything ended. It started with a hostess that was sitting when we walked in, never greeted us, just looked at us (at first I thought she could be the coat check person) I had to tell her how many in our party (3) she asked my our names to get us logged into their system, then tried to sit us at a table that another gentleman was drapped over. I told her it ws too close to the other table and suggested another table. Surprisingly, in her 5 inch heels (sale sticker tags still on the shoes) and 4 inch silver beaded skirt she walked us very carefully (not to fall over on the slippery floor) to the next table. He shirt was thin strapped only to be covered later by a leather coat...not a great first impression. The waitress came by our table within 5 minutes to take our drink order and as she walked away, I had to ask her abot the restaurant. I thought with them not being open very long she would explain the system. Salad bar, no big deal, no pastas, no soups, stale bread -except the cheesey bread balls we got after having to ask what everyone was getting at their table 'cept us. -same story with the potatoes..My husband said, we are here at 6PM, maybe they just opened and havnt had enough time to get things in order for the dinner service...I asked the waitress and she said they had been open since 11 that morning (Sunday night) Plenty of time to get your food and service together. The meat came to us when we turned our card to green -I mean, one piece of chicken. Then nothing...nadda...for 10 minutes, when I again had to ask the waitress why no meat was coming our way, she said she would send some over -isn't this supposed to be natural? I could keep on and on about the awful service we got but you get the picture by now.
