Woodall Rodgers exit to Pearl Street will stay closed until mid-summer

Opening it would cause more traffic, TxDOT says.

— TxDOT sends word that the Woodall Rodgers exit to Pearl Street will continue to be closed during construction on Woodall Rodgers Deck Park. According to the transportation group, "opening the Pearl Street exit puts considerably more traffic onto Olive Street," which has maintained increased traffic because of construction projects in the area. They further explain:

Due to the already congested conditions on Olive Street, TxDOT will extend the Pearl Street exit closure in an effort to keep the Woodall Rodgers Freeway and surface street traffic flowing. This will also eliminate possible confusion due to several planned closures of the ramp in the near future by the other area projects. The extension is due to last until mid-summer.
