UPDATED: Read part of script from Dallas-filmed show Good Christian Belles
The show will premiere in the midseason.
DALLAS The TV show formerly known as Good Christian Bitches will air under the moniker Good Christian Belles on ABC. It will premiere midseason, instead of airing at the beginning of the fall season with big-hitters like Dancing with the Stars and Grey's Anatomy.
The show is based on a book written by Kim Gatlin and is executive-produced by Darren Star of Sex and the City. The cast includes Leslie Bibb (Iron Man), Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies and Glee), and Annie Potts (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and Joan of Arcadia). It's been filmed in Dallas.
The storyline is about the "ultimate high school 'mean girl'" who gets divorced and has to return home to Dallas face her friends. Themes of back-stabbing make this show sound very appealing to the Desperate Housewives watcher.
ABC posts a snippet from the script, with the promise of a forthcoming video:
AMANDA: I know. The fact you didn’t come to his funeral wasn’t my first clue.
GIGI: I mean, why would anyone in their right mind leave Dallas for Southern California? Dallas has the same weather without the liberals.
AMANDA: Mama. Bill’s dead. A little compassion wouldn’t kill ya.
Gigi opens her mouth to fire back, but Amanda gives her “the hand”.
AMANDA: But I might.
UPDATE: Here's the video.
