Morrissey got hair cut at Dallas barber shop, then took hair with him

Primping for Thursday night show at McFarlin Auditorium, perhaps.

— Reclusive, sensitive, feeeeeling performer Morrissey got his hair cut in Dallas on Thursday afternoon, then took the hairs that had been shorn with him.

The haircut was perhaps pre-show primping in anticipation of his performance at McFarlin Auditorium on Thursday. His barber of choice was a venerable greaser salon in Fair Park, whose proprietor posted an update on his Facebook page [since removed] that "Morrissey and the boyz dropped in for chops today!"

But then when pressed, the proprietor clammed up tight, citing Morrissey's request for "no pics and no knowledge to the public." However, a bystander at the shop testified that Morrissey scooped up his hair trimmings and took them to go -- destroying any opportunity that the hair salon might have had of selling the locks of the former Smiths front-man on ebay, one-by-one, like Jesus' shroud, to mopey fans. Morrissey has always had a healthy head of hair; they could've made a killing.

Can you really be emo at 52? What angst could you possibly have other than waiting on AARP to send you a monthly letter?

John, words clearly spoken by someone who is much much younger. i can say with first-hand knowledge that it is entirely possible to remain miserable right through to your 50s

Teresa, I'm with John on this one. 52 is getting close enough to me that I can read the fine print (when I find my glasses), and I gotta say No to mid-life Emo.

Miserable, heck yeah... I never knew what money worries, body aches and ear hair was until I got here, but true "Emo" requires a certain romantic-era poet, theatrical sighing, self-absorption that most people in shudder "middle age" have either grown out of, or had it beaten out by life.

Um...Morrissey (and The Smiths) are not emo...

It was a great show last night.

YNWA is correct...The Smiths and Morrissey were oozing angst, self loathing and a general malaise long before the emos arrived. I would have loved to have gone to this show.
