Home of the week: 2922 Gladiolus Lane in Dallas

For under $200,000, this home won't be on the market for long.

Look at this adorable mid century steeped, just dang Lipton-tea steeped in the 1960s. In fact, when I saw the photos of the bathroom at 2922 Gladiolus — Ed Murchison, my mid century modern genius, always loads up lots of photos, even of the commodes – I had deja vu. It reminded me of all the time I spent “sitting” in my aunt’s bathroom. Swear those are the same cabinets, maybe even the same commode! (Let’s hope it’s not the same toilet paper.)

One-owner custom-built set on a one acre creek side wooded lot in Bretton Woods, near Ledbetter. Also guess what this home is near: the Dallas Executive Airport, which is getting busier as a private jet FBO. Oh, be still my heart: vaulted ceilings, clerestory windows, exposed beams, and walls of glass over looking the expansive, wooded yard with a path leading to a creek.

Total Mad Man split level features spacious upper level master suite with balcony. Vitals: Four bedrooms, two and a half baths, 2538 square feet. All that plus a sewing room, workshop, and two car garage. And did we make a mistake on the price? No sir, $199,900. Will. Not. Last.
