Gina Puente to open Sky Canyon Wine Bar featuring Stephan Pyles at DFW Airport
Also Sky Canyon at Love Field.
DALLAS Gina Puente, who has some of DFW Airport's most innovative restaurant concepts including Cereality and UFood Grill, has partnered with Stephan Pyles to open a new concept at the airport called Sky Canyon Wine Bar, with a tentative opening date of June 2013.
She'll follow that up with another Sky Canyon at Love Field, to open in 2014.
According to a release, the DFW Airport Sky Canyon represents a "reconcepting" of her La Bodega Winery outlet at DFW-Terminal D14, with the addition of a menu created by chef Pyles.
The new location at Love Field will also feature chef Pyles' menu. In addition, Puente will add a food program to La Buena Vida in Grapevine and is seeking applicants for chef.
Puente's involvement with airport concessions began in 1991, when she followed the footsteps of her father, Victor Puente Sr., who had three newsstands. La Bodega Winery was created in 1995 as the first and only licensed fully bonded winery in an airport.
She also bought La Buena Vida Vineyards in Grapevine, from owner and Texas wine industry pioneer Dr. Bobby G. Smith, in 2006.
In addition to her franchises for Wall Street News and Main Street News, Puente has a Blimpies, Cereality, UFood Grill, and NRgize Lifestyle Cafe smoothie stand.
