A third Trader Joe’s is coming to Dallas
File this under Big News.
Real estate editor Steve Brown’s story Tuesday morning about planned development on Knox Street in Dallas contained a very intriguing nugget: “The lead retail tenant in the project would be a Trader Joe’s grocery store, brokers say.”
Say what now? Another Trader Joe’s coming to town? Well, cover me in Cookie Butter, that is exciting news. Our fair city is already slated for a Trader Joe’s opening on Lower Greenville in the first quarter of 2013. The planning of a Knox Street Trader Joe’s is clearly in the very early stages, but we’ll be keeping an eye on it. The more places in town to buy Two Buck Chuck, the better, as far as I’m concerned.
According to Brown’s story, the redevelopment involves a 2-acre property along Cole between Armstrong Avenue and Knox. On paper, it seems like a perfect location for a Trader Joe’s, with Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, the Apple Store, and several restaurants in the neighborhood.
