Police arrest Frisco high school student for gun-related threat

Multiple students who attend the school said the threat likely wasn't serious.

FRISCO — Frisco police officers arrested a Centennial High School student Wednesday after the teenager made a gun-related threat Tuesday night.

In the threat, which was posted on Twitter, the student claimed he could kill people. The tweet is as follows: "No I'm [expletive] crazy I'd do that [expletive] I'd go in there kill 6-7 kids walk out run home look my mom eye to eye than [sic] pull the trigger to my head."

The Twitter account the statement originated from has since been deactivated.

An investigation determined the threat "potentially jeopardized the safety of the school environment," according to a statement released by a police spokesman. That statement indicated investigators are unsure whether the student "had the means to carry out the threat," however.

Multiple students who attend the school said the threat likely wasn't serious.

The threat comes less than a week after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn., which left 27 people dead, including 20 students.

Because of his juvenile status, the student's name is not being released. The police statement said it would release no additional information on the case at this time and noted the department takes all threats seriously to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
