Police seek hit-and-run driver in silver Chevy truck that injured Prosper teen
Police say the driver got out of the vehicle and walked up to the injured victim before fleeing the scene.
PROSPER Celina police are looking for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision Friday that left a 16-year-old male Prosper resident in critical condition.
The collision occurred at 10:55 p.m. on Frontier Parkway near County Road 84 and involved the Prosper teenager and an unknown vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that motorists called 911 earlier in the night to report a person jumping in front of vehicles on Frontier Parkway. As the motorists would slow down to avoid the person, they would try to jump on their vehicle.
Prosper police received calls regarding the incidents and responded, but prior to their arrival, another 911 call came in reporting that someone was laying in the road. One vehicle was seen on the side of the road, and while it is unknown whether it was involved in the collision, the driver got out of his vehicle and walked up to the injured victim before fleeing the scene. Celina police are currently attempting to identify this driver and his newer model silver Chevrolet Silverado crew-cab 4X4 pickup with black step rails. The truck was last seen heading east on Frontier Parkway.
Celina police also impounded a grey Dodge Challenger as evidence Saturday morning when information surfaced that it was also involved in the collision.
Anyone with information on the incident can contact the Celina Police Department at 972-382-2121.
