Dallas Arts District, food trucks host events first Saturday of the month
Visit the Crow Collection, take an architectural walking tour, and eat from food trucks.
I think everyone knows that the Dallas Arts District has been an amazing supporter of the food truck scene. I personally don't believe the food truck scene would have evolved as quickly or as successfully in Dallas without the Arts District. Over the last month, I had heard talk that everyone was looking for ways to take the relationship to the next level, and now we are seeing the results of those talks.
If you don't know, every month, the Arts District has "First Saturday." The agenda varies, but usually a couple of the museums have free admission and special events are planned for the entire family. From time to time, food trucks were invited to join the fun. Starting with First Saturday February, food trucks will be available at every first Saturday of every month in the Dallas Arts District! Truck schedule will vary monthly. In February, the trucks will be Gandolfo's New York Deli, Jack's Chowhound, Four Seasons, Easy Slider, and Cup Cakin' Machine.
In February, this coincides with the Nasher Sculpture Center’s Target First Saturday programming, the Crow Collection of Asian Art’s Adventure Asia events, and the Dallas Center for Architecture’s Walking Tour. A perfect time to come down to the district and go to the museums, take a tour, ride your bike, or just enjoy the sunshine and great meal. You can get more information about any of the events at www.crowcollection.org, www.dallascfa.com, and www.nashersculpturecenter.org.
Lunch service is 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Some trucks will arrive a little early and stay a little late. Adventure Asia and Target First Saturdays are both free. The DCFA tour is $10. Seniors and students are discounted. Young children are free.
As a parent, I love that I can introduce my child to the museums in a manner designed for them and is also low cost, with a tasty lunch included.

Also, remember the Arts District has started the Artful Bites programming on the First Friday of the month. Meet the education staff of the Crow Collection at the food trucks at noon on February 3 and then head to the galleries of the Crow at 12:30 p.m. for a quick talk. This month it is Rest in Peace: Burial Practices of Ancient China. You can find the list of trucks that will be in the District on Friday on the website.
Thank you Arts District for all you do for Dallas!
