See’s Candies returns to Dallas-Fort Worth for Valentine’s Day
They mix it up every year.
DALLAS California-based See's Candies continues its ongoing flirtation with Dallas-Fort Worth by trying a new strategy in 2012 and opening kiosks around Dallas specifically for Valentine's Day.
The kiosks will open on February 4 and remain open until February 15, and are located in a quintet of mall locations: Collin Creek; Stonebriar; Vista Ridge in Lewisville; North East Mall in Hurst; and Parks at Arlington.
This represents yet another twist from prior years and reflects the company's nimble approach to doing business. In prior years, See's opened its kiosks in mid-November for the Christmas holiday, closing up shop on December 26.
For Christmas 2010, they kept the kiosks open right through Mother's Day -- basically half the year -- to reap sales from the big candy holidays of Valentine's Day, Easter, and Mother's Day.
Christmas 2011 saw the kiosks return to a December 26 closing -- but now with a re-opening for the Valentine's Day holiday.
See's also has permanent year-round stands in most Dillard's stores.
