Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Terry has announced a charity raffle for a prize and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity during a press conference after the Mavericks practice on Monday. NetRaffle.org by Celebrities has teamed up with Terry for the fundraiser. The lucky winner will win a replica of Jason Terry’s championship ring and watch the Mavericks take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, April 2. (Editor's note: In the video below, Terry says it's the Lakers, but the Mavericks are scheduled to play the Clippers that day.) The raffle ends March 26, 2012.

The Jason Terry Foundation is a youth-based organization, focused on helping others obtain dreams (H.O.O.D.), through education, self-empowerment, and community involvement. Jason Terry has been giving back to communities across the country through The Jason Terry Foundation, founded in 2000. The primary focus of the foundation is to provide inner city youths the opportunity to further their education beyond high school.

The Celebrities for Charity Foundation was founded in 1997 under the auspices of the National Heritage Foundation and it was incorporated in Massachusetts; it was an independent organization in 2002. The Mission of the Celebrities for Charity Foundation is “to unite the goodwill of celebrities with the generosity of their fans to assist people in need,” which it achieves by assisting celebrities and related organizations such as professional sports teams in fulfilling their philanthropic aspirations.
