Dessert review: Coco Andre in Dallas
A chocolate 6-inch stiletto trumps a mystery box of grocery store chocolate any day.

Sea Salt Caramel Truffle and Dulce de Leche Truffle from Coco Andre in Dallas
If there are two things in my life that I covet, it is sugar and shoes. So, naturally I adore Coco Andre. If it isn’t enough that I can get delicious truffles in flavors such as Canelitas, Triple Sec, Raspberry Lavender or my personal favorite, Dulce de leche, you can also get chocolate heels in an array of styles like cheetah print and polka dots. Be still my heart.
If I am spending $800-$1,500 on a pair of Louboutins, shouldn’t they come with chocolate? I think so! If I get home from shopping guilt ridden and ready to take my new purchase back so my husband doesn’t give me “the look” and I find a delicious zebra stiletto made out of chocolate in my bag, I can tell you that I will forget all about whatever it was I was doing just 30 seconds before.
Coco Andre’s chocolate heels were shown at the Jean Paul Gaultier and there are few designers that awe me like him. However, I would be lying if I did not say I wasn’t in just as much awe of these beautiful chocolate works of art as I was JPG’s clothing.
Last time I paid a visit to the Oak Cliff store front, I stocked up on Dulce de Leche (carmelized milk and white chocolate ganache in milk chocolate) but I also was able to pick up a few sea salt caramel truffles. I was actually able to sample my heart out in store, which is the one and only reason these beauties made is safely back to McKinney for me to photograph before digging in.
Dulce de Leche is something I have never been big on, but the lighter flavor of this truffle made it so wonderful. You are easily able to identify both the white and the milk chocolate in this truffle. It is creamy and simple, yet oh so indulgent.
I admit that I have a pretty torrid love affair with sea salt caramel anything. I have told my husband he doesn’t have anything to worry about, but if the situation presented itself, I would really have to reconsider trading him in for a truckload of sea salt caramel anything.
With that being said, have you tried the sea salt caramel truffle at Coco Andre? This wonderful chocolate shell is filled with a creamy sea salt sprinkled caramel that would make a Russell Stover truffle taste good.
Depending on where you’re located, if Oak Cliff is too far for you to travel, you can find these gorgeous creations at EatZi’s and Central Market.
Valentine’s Day is next week and I can speak for a lot of ladies when I say that I would much rather have a chocolate 6-inch stiletto instead of mystery box of grocery store chocolate any day.
