Watch Christian pastor and his wife in bed on Friday
The couple is under the covers, answering questions about sex.
GRAPEVINE Christian pastor Ed Young, of Fellowship Church headquartered in Grapevine, has shocked conservative churchgoers before. He's making national headlines again on Friday for hosting a "24 hour bed-in," where he and his wife Lisa Young snuggle in bed on the roof of his church, talking about how to bring God back into the bedroom.
Before your mind starts to wander, the religious couple will not be having sex on camera. Just talking about it. A lot.
While the event is about spreading their Christian thoughts to both believers and non-believers, it's certainly also a pitch for their new book, The Sexperiment: 7 Days to Lasting Intimacy with Your Spouse, which will "show" husbands and wives how to have creative sex. "It's so important for us to understand how God designed this wonderful intimacy between husband and wife. We have sex His way and we understand the depth of what it was created to be," explained Lisa in a promo video. The book is on sale now.
Last we caught up with the Youngs, in 2009, Ed was hosting a debate at the Grapevine mega-church moderated by Watch Christian pastor and his wife in bed on ABC's Nightline. Ed and several other Christian panelists debated about adultery with a bisexual woman and a man who owns ashleymadison.com, the website where people can find extramarital partners. In 2008, Ed also made a splash by preaching that married couples should have sex daily.
The couple makes the distinction that sex should be between married people, and that a married couple is made up of a man and a woman.
In a segment Friday morning, a listener explained that he never talked about sex in church, but that he is proud that the pastor is talking about this "beautiful, beautiful" thing. He also pledged to get the book today.
The couple takes "quick comfort breaks" over the 24 hour session, during which video clips of the pastor are shown.
