UPDATED video: Watch DART paratransit dashcam as driver slams into cars on southbound Tollway
Amazingly, no one died.
DALLAS UPDATE: DART released dashcam video of the paratransit bus driver as the crash took place:
DART paratransit driver slams into cars on southbound Tollway
Original story: Last week, Dallas-area reporters told the story of a DART paratransit bus plowing into a line of cars on southbound Dallas North Tollway near Victory Park. Two people were taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital on June 29, and the crash was otherwise under the investigation of the North Texas Tollway Authority and DART Police. The paratransit bus was not carrying any disabled passengers.
But on Thursday, video of that crash surfaced, making national news. Our dining editor Teresa Gubbins, away from her desk in Florida, woke up Friday to video of a “violent DART bus crash” on the local TV station.

DART reports that the five-vehicle accident was the DART bus driver's fault. Morgan Lyons, spokesperson for DART, said the agency will "identify any needed areas for changes in operator safety training." The DART bus driver is now on paid administrative leave.
UPDATE: The driver has been fired from Veolia Transportation. There is no evidence the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol or using his phone.
