The local beer revolution continues with a new branch of the Ginger Man set to open in Southlake by "summer's end," said spokeswoman Catherine Destasio.
Ginger Man is the small chain known for dozens of beers, on draft and by the bottle, as well as dartboards and a dark wood interior. The Dallas branch opened in 1992.
Optimistically, the Southlake branch could be open by as early as August 1. It'll have the same quaint atmosphere as the other area branches in Fort Worth, Plano, and Dallas, and like the Dallas branch, it'll boast a second-floor loft space. The menu will be the same, with about the same variety of beers as the other branches, Destasio said.
"We don't know how many taps will be on that wall yet, there are usually 80," she said. "The beer selection is a little different in each branch. The 'base beers' on tap will be the same as at any Ginger Man, and then some chosen for that market by the manager."
The location is near but not inside Town Square, next to a Which Wich in a strip center just east on FM 1709. Southlake seemed like the next leap after Plano, Destasio said.
"We're growing and that is a growing area, and we've had great success in Plano," she said.
