— According to Art & Seek, local radio station KXT's Summer Cut concert will officially become a yearly gig.

The inaugural show at Gexa Energy Pavilion in early June included The Flaming Lips and St. Vincent. The impressive lineup at a large venue was an important moment for the growing radio station.

We said of the festival:

Towards the end of the set, [Wayne] Coyne [of The Flaming Lips] noted that 91.7 KXT’s Summer Cut was an outstanding success and informed the excited audience that they should demand The Flaming Lips return next year. To turn the festival into an annual event would be ideal; to bring The Flaming Lips back for another round would be even better.

Kirby, anonymous:

Too bad KXT's own programming is so lame. I wish they aspired to be like KCRW, rather than JackFM.

Eliot Landrum, verified:

I agree with Kirby. I was a "Founding Contributor" of KXT, with the hopes that it would be like KCRW. But, I slowly stopped listening as it just became a random assortment of odd music. Hope they can straighten out the ship.

What do you think?
