The Glass House already breaking bad in Dallas-Fort Worth ratings
Even American Ninja Warrior beat the Big Brother copycat.
CBS had gone to court in an effort to stop ABC from airing its transparent Big Brother imitator, The Glass House.
But after Monday's opening night ratings, why bother?
The 9 p.m. launch ran fourth in its time slot among the Big 4 broadcast networks, drawing just 81,289 D-FW viewers. Fox4's local newscast won at that hour with 101,612 viewers while the second hour of NBC's American Ninja Warrior (which originated on tape from Fair Park in Dallas) placed third with 94,837 viewers.
Glass House moved up to second place with advertiser-prized 18-to-49-year-olds. But it fell sharply from ABC's preceding The Bachelorette, which had 70,451 viewers in this key demographic compared to Glass House's 32,023.
Despite its late start, the Texas Rangers road win at San Diego was the night's heavy hitter with 230,319 total viewers on Fox Sports Southwest. In the eighth inning of the game, play-by-play man Dave Barnett briefly talked gibberish and later attributed it to a migraine headache. He will be evaluated and miss the closing two games in San Diego, the Rangers said.
In Monday's local news derby results, Fox4, NBC5, and WFAA8 finished in a rare three-way tie for first at 10 p.m. in total viewers. But WFAA8 had the gold to itself among 25-to-54-year-olds, the main advertiser target audience for news programming.
NBC5 notched a doubleheader win at 6 a.m. The 5 and 6 p.m. competitions were split two ways, with WFAA8 winning both of them in total viewers while Fox4 ran first with 25-to-54-year-olds.
