Dallas is no match for Texas Rangers in Dallas-Fort Worth ratings
Dallas did do well against So You Think You Can Dance, though.
The Ewings couldn't take that kind of heat. From 8 to 8:30 p.m., Dallas had 162,578 D-FW viewers while the Rangers pulled in 284,512 on Fox Sports Southwest. It was also lopsided among advertiser-prized 18-to-49-year-olds, with Dallas drawing 73,653 to the Rangers' 121,687.
It was the first place Rangers' sixth straight win, with top draw Yu Darvish on the mound Wednesday night.
Dallas perked up a bit after the Rangers game ended. Overall, Episode 3 averaged 182,901 viewers, with 80,058 in the 18-to-49 motherlode.
Last week's double premiere of Dallas had 331,931 viewers for the first episode and 338,705 for the second. Among 18-to-49-year-olds, the draws were 153,710 and 144,104.
Despite the substantial dropoff, Wednesday's third episode of Dallas was the No.1 entertainment program in its 8 to 9 p.m. slot, beating Fox's runner-up second hour of So You Think You Can Dance (142,256 total viewers). But the two shows tied for second in the 18-to-49 demographic.
In local news derby results, CBS11 topped the 10 p.m. field in total viewers but WFAA8 won among 25-to-54-year-olds, the main advertiser target audience for news programming.
Fox4 swept the 6 a.m. competitions and added 5 and 6 p.m. wins in the 25-to-54 demographic. WFAA8 and NBC5 respectively ran first in total viewers at 5 and 6 p.m.
