Fort Worth has multiple options for Mother’s Day brunch
Eat This Fort Worth highlights Cafe Modern, the Fort Worth Zoo, and others.
Many restaurants are offering special Mother’s Day Brunch Menus for Sunday, May 13. Make sure and get your reservations in now.
Cafe Modern - Cafe Modern serves a stellar brunch no matter the occasion. Take advantage of Chef Dena Peterson’s use of local and seasonal ingredients in dishes such as the Cowtown Market Vegetable Soup. I’m craving the Red Velvet Pancakes myself. Any mom would be thrilled to have such beautiful food in this stunning space overlooking the reflecting pool of The Modern Art Museum. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Reservations are a must, call 817-840-2157.
Lanny’s Alta Cocina Mexicana - This is the only brunch of the year that Lanny’s serves, so you won’t want to miss this. The highlights of the menu are too numerous to mention; check out the menu here. $48 per person, make reservations at 817-850-9996.
Ellerbe Fine Foods - Ellerbe will serve a special Mother’s Day four course menu for $40 for adults, $20 per child from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Reservations highly recommended: 817-926-3663.
Ferre Ristorante - Chef Sean Alvarez offers up a three-course Tuscan Italian Brunch for $28.95 (1/2 off for kids under 12) from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Highlights of the menu include Warm Baked Blue Crab Cakes, Arancini di Riso (flash fried risotto balls, prosciutto, three cheeses, pesto), Petite Filet of Beef, Coriander Crusted Pork Tenderloin with fontina grits, and East Coast Scallops. Call 817-332-0033 for reservations.
Cat City Grill - Cat City Grill serves up one of my favorite brunches. They will have three seatings available for Mother’s Day Brunch: 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. By reservation only, call 817-916-5333.
Bailey’s Prime Plus - You’ll find an elegant brunch buffet for Mother’s Day at Bailey’s. Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and priced at $49 per person and $18 for children. For an extra touch, they will provide Bloody Marys prepared tableside for $6. Expect quite a spread that includes a Cheese Board, Fresh Baked Bread, Prime Rib, Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken Breast, Coke-A-Cola Glazed Ham, Crispy Bacon & Country Sausage, and to top it all off, a Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream Sunday Bar. Reservations can be made at 817-870-1120.
Mother’s Day Brunch at the Fort Worth Zoo - If you’re looking for an out-of-the-ordinary brunch, this is it. Noon seatings are still available. Prices are $65 for adults, $25 for children (17 & younger), and free for toddlers (2 & younger). The price includes brunch in the Zoo’s Portraits of the Wild Art Gallery, an adoption package of their favorite animal, an up-close-and-personal visit with some of the Zoo’s animal, and exploring the Fort Worth Zoo. Check out the Fort Worth Zoo website for further details.
Grace - If you want to go all out for Mother’s Day, Grace is the place to be. Brunch items are made to order. Brunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Buttons - Check out Buttons and their Jazz brunch for Mother’s Day. You’ll find comfort food favorites such as chicken and waffles on their a la carte brunch menu or choose their brunch buffet. Call 817-735-4900.
Taverna - Taverna will serve their usual brunch options along with specials.
Salsa Fuego - This unassuming spot in way West Fort Worth serves up outstanding food. Reserve a spot for their Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fixed price menu and buffet is $15; pitchers of mimosas are $15. Kids 5-10 are half price, 4 and under are $4. Call 817-560-7888.
Vetro - If you’re looking for a unique gift idea, look into Vetro Glassblowing Studio in Grapevine. On May 5, May 11, and May 12 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., you can help Vetro artists create a handblown glass flared bowl or handblown glass flowers. This would even be a fun event for moms to participate in. Just plan ahead, because the glass art has to cool overnight and must be picked up the next studio day (they will be closed on Mother’s Day). Vetro is located at 701 South Main Street, #103 in Grapevine. Call 817-251-1668.
