Preview: Razzle Dazzle Dallas offers an early celebration of gay pride
The theme this year is “Back to the Eighties,” so feel free to show up your best Nancy Reagan power suit.
Dallas loves to be different. While most of the rest of the world celebrates Gay Pride in June, we do ours in September.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t throw a big ol’ gay party in June.
That’s why we love Razzle Dazzle Dallas. Four Zs in a party name is like four stars in a restaurant review. And when two of the words rhyme, it’s like a whole extra star.
Razzle Dazzle Dallas is committed to helping community initiatives and organizations that are focused on efforts to better the LGBT community including, but not limited to, the battle against AIDS and HIV infection, community relations, beautification, education, and wellness.
There are four days of events that make up Razzle Dazzle Days, including a wine walk & dog walk on Wednesday; an Oak Lawn pub crawl Thursday night; the Metro Ball on Friday night featuring a concert by the fab Taylor Dayne; and the big street-party finale on Saturday night.
The theme this year is “Back to the Eighties,” so feel free to show up your best Nancy Reagan power suit.
Many of the week’s events are free, but we suggest going full VIP for the best experience. For just $100, you get exclusive access that only 200 people in all of Dallas will be able to enjoy. Perks include VIP valet parking at ilume for Saturday night’s festival; complimentary liquor and food at the festival (worth the $100 alone!); admission to the MetroBall and a special VIP area within; a VIP reception Friday night with complimentary liquor and food; a gift bag, and plenty of other goodies.
So be sure to purchase one today to guarantee access behind the velvet rope. And more dazzle than you can handle.

Damn, that $100 VIP pass is well worth it! Of course you'll probably need to leave the car in valet and get a room at the Melrose after drinking all that liquor.
