Blame the weather.

At White Rock Lake, you're still close enough to see the Dallas skyline but far enough to forget about checking your email.
UPDATE: The White Rock Lake Festival has been canceled due to weather. According to The Granada's Mike Schoder, wind - which was causing problems during Friday's setup - is expected to be strong on Saturday, and on Sunday, rain is in the forecast.
"We are going to look at a reschedule next year," he says.
Original story: The 13th annual White Rock Lake Tunes and Trucks Festival on Saturday and Sunday does it all: food trucks, pet adoptions, face painting, a petting zoo, and, most importantly, some great local music. This year’s lineup features a melting pot of local bands that could satisfy any craving, making for two full days of fun on the banks of our favorite Dallas lake.
We've made a quick guide to the bands playing the festival so you can scout out a new local band or to catch one you already love. Click on the blue links to read more about each band.

Salim and the Travoltas – soft rock influenced by '60s pop and rock 'n' roll. Front man Salim Nourallah has produced albums for many local bands, including the Old 97’s, Smile Smile, and the Deathray Davies. He knows his way around a good song.
The Will Callers – unapologetic Southern rock with a bluesy twist. This Fort Worth band will instill a craving for whiskey and bring out your soulful side with one song.
The Fox and the Bird – cozy folk tunes supported by an accordion, banjo, trumpet, and mandolin. Right on time for the folk trend that’s sweeping the nation, these guys deliver sweet harmonies and punctual instrumentation that will sweep you off your feet.
Goodnight Ned – fire-starting rock 'n' roll that knows when to hold back. Goodnight Ned uses the right amount of build-up and harmony with sassy guitar riffs to guide you along their windy, unpaved Texas path.
Larry G(ee) – funky, loud melodies with rumbling yet smooth vocals. Think Bruno Mars meets James Brown.
Sunday, November 11
J. Charles and the Trainrobbers – gritty country roots on the verge of a rock and roll revival. Lead singer J. Charles Saenz’s scratchy, despairing tones push off the traditional pedal steel guitar for an unconventional and arousing style.
Somebody’s Darling – bold, curving vocals paired with a hearty helping of good ‘ol strings and drums for Southern rock you won’t soon forget. Front woman Amber Farris controls every song with her powerful, heart-stopping chords, which clears the perfect path for the swinging guitars.
Forgotten Space – Grateful Dead cover band dedicated to recreating a 30-year catalog with the same number of musicians and instruments as the original act.
Bird Dogs – Texas country backed with a three-part harmony fronted by The Ticket’s George Dunham. Their solid sound fills the backdrop of a White Rock sunset nicely. Make sure to slow down and enjoy this set before the day is done.
