Sean Koncir, 20, of McKinney, this week was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting a boy he babysat during the summer of 2011.

— A man was sentenced this week to 30 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child he babysat.

During the summer of 2011, Sean Koncir, 20, of McKinney, engaged in sexual conduct with a 5-year-old boy while babysitting him in McKinney. The child told a family friend about the sexual abuse later that year, and authorities charged Koncir soon afterward.

Testimony presented at sentencing established that Koncir had sexually assaulted the boy on around four separate occasions. Koncir would watch out the window for the boy's father and girlfriend to leave and then tell the child he wanted "15 minutes in the bathroom, now," according to testimony.

Koncir lived in Farmersville during the time he committed the crimes. He moved to Chicago where he was working in a deli for a short time before being charged.

The case was investigated by Detective Jimmy Thomas of the McKinney Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant Criminal District Attorney Claire Miranda. Assisting in the prosecution were District Attorney Investigator Kenny Newton and legal secretaries Kathy Schroeder and Sandy Schilling. Judge John Roach Jr. presided over the case.
