Yes, you can get a home in Dallas for $100,000

We scuffed off our Loubies to find a real bargain.

1422 Michigan Avenue is a swift $109,500.

1422 Michigan Avenue is a swift $109,500.

— Last week, a reader offered up this suggestion — more of a challenge, really, especially to a new Monster-In-Law: Give us homes for $100,000.

Are you kidding me? Cheap House Porn? That’s, like, impossible!

Not! We will call this section “It’s My Mansion” — inspired by the Wall Street Journal’s new global Mansion section. Yeah, let them drool over the chateau in Bordeaux and London townhomes starting at 50 million pounds. We can drool over plenty of Dallas House Porn right here, sure, but we are really going to dig the dirt and scuff our Loubies to find some real bargains.

These homes are cheaper than renting, kids!

Today, I was down in Beckley Club Estates and doodled around Cedar Oaks. Not only did I find a short sale investment, but I found this delicious little jewel box listed with Tiffany Weisser of Allie Beth Allman. Yes, the same firm who has Phil Romano’s house and may have sold Troy Aikman’s house, agent to President and Laura Bush Allie Beth Allman has a listing at 1422 Michigan Avenue for $109,500.

Not kidding. With a high enough credit limit, you could charge this house on your AmEx Black card!

What do you get for $109,500? She’s a petite, dainty 1,100-plus square feet with two bedrooms, one bath, one car garage, remodeled kitchen, cute yard, and patio. Built in 1947, completely updated in Cedar Oaks, which reminds me of Lakewood, Jan Mar, and Austin all rolled into one.

If you see another $100K home, send it our way: Candace@CandysDirt.com or Jo@CandysDirt.com.

2 bedrooms 1 bath. That would be why the price is low. Hard to sell. Good deal if you don't need the room though.
