Allen Americans hockey team picks up two players from Houston Aeros
Ryley Grantham and Mike Montgomery are both defensemen.
ALLEN The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League announced today that Ryley Grantham and Mike Montgomery have been re-assigned to Allen from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
Ryley Grantham had a fight and an assist in last night’s Houston Aeros loss to the Texas Stars. Grantham signed a contract with the Americans this off-season and was immediately invited to Aeros training camp. He will join his new teammates on the ice for the opening of training camp on Monday.
Mike Montgomery has been re-assigned to Allen from Houston. The US born defenseman is a native of Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Grantham played in 35 games for the Houston Aeros last season, as well as four post season games.
“We are extremely happy to have these two players in Allen,” said Americans minority owner Craig Ludwig. “Ryley brings toughness and contributes at both ends of the ice. Mike Montgomery can really skate and is a solid puck moving defenseman. He will be one of our top four D-men.”
Training Camp opens on Monday, October 8th at 10:00 AM at the Allen Event Center. All sessions are open to both the fans and media.
The Americans will play their first pre-season game on Friday, October 12th at Texas. The pre-season home opener will be the following night, Saturday, October 13th, also against the Texas Brahmas.
