Cowboys’ Emmitt Smith becomes human torpedo on Dancing With The Stars
Cheryl Burke looked terrified.
Cowboys Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith advanced to another week on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
It was double elimination week, and two celebs went home — Season 2 champ Drew Lachey and IndyCar drive Helio Castroneves.
Emmitt danced a paso doble on Monday Night based upon Mario Lopez’s dance in Season 3. The highlight was when he raced from one end of the dance floor to the other and slid underneath (terrified?) partner Cheryl Burke. One of the judges called him “the human torpedo.” He received scores (out of 10) of 8.5, 8, 8.5 for a total of 25 points. He tied for seventh place among 11 stars.
Former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Melissa Rycroft tied for the best score of Monday night with a 27.
It looks like Smith has a lot of fan support; he hasn’t been in the bottom two yet, despite scores more towards the middle of the pack the past two weeks.
Smith will dance the “bolero” next week, as the stars got to pick dance styles for each other in a new twist.
