Squee! Dallas is in second place to bring back One Direction
Fans can submit a video by October 8.
DALLAS Are we not done with One Direction yet? Apparently not. Someone at One Direction’s camp must be well aware of the lifespan of boy bands and wants to keep striking while the iron is hot. And rightly so: In boy-band kingdom there is only a certain amount of time before someone decides to go solo, someone comes out, or someone gets Yoko-ed. These are only some factors that usually stop boy bands from keeping their relevance after a couple of years. Can One Direction outlast the boy bands of seasons past?
Before One Direction was huge in the U.S., they had a contest where the prize was a visit from One Direction. Dallas ended up winning the contest and the boys came to Frisco, where they performed a short set and met with fans. Not long after, they had their official concert at the Gexa where they performed for about 19,000 fans. Another concert has been announced for July 22, 2013. But first: a new contest.
The announcement on their site reads: “One more chance to host a special 1D event in your city. For the last challenge, create a 'Take Me Home' commercial for your city. Click here to enter and for more details. Deadline to submit your video is Monday, October 8th at 11:59 p.m. EST.”
Dallas is currently in second place behind Los Angeles. Fans can go here for more information on the contest and to participate.
